Job Summary

Houston Methodist Hospital is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine nuclear medicine procedures of moderate complexity using radioactive substances. You will provide direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special nuclear medicine procedures, delivering exceptional patient care and adhering to radiation standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures, utilizing radioactive substances to diagnose and treat medical conditions.
  • Provide direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic or therapeutic interventions, including assisting with sterile technique.
  • Assess, identify, and respond to the needs of patients for adjustment or intervention to optimize patient care, image quality, and patient experience.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.
  • ARRT-N - Radiologic Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Tech (ARRT) or CNMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) or CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure -- Registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) thru the Texas Medical Board or CMRT-Temp - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - Temporary State Licensure and BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA).
