Nuclear Medicine Technologist I - PRN/Days

At Quality Talent Group, we are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist I to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist I, you will be responsible for completing a variety of routine nuclear medicine procedures of moderate complexity using radioactive substances.

This position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special nuclear medicine procedures. You will deliver exceptional patient care and adhere to radiation standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures, including positioning, physiology, procedure preparation, and technical factors.
  • Modify technical factors to achieve desired imaging results and recognize complications and limitations associated with certain procedures.
  • Provide direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic or therapeutic interventions, including assisting with sterile technique.
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level utilizing verbal and non-verbal skills, terminology, and language.
  • Follow safety standards and conduct all imaging procedures accordingly, using ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to protect patients, staff, and the general public, and following radiation safety standards.
  • Maintain proper sterile techniques for procedures, regularly practice aseptic techniques, and ensure compliance with radiation safety and infection control procedures.
  • Report "near misses" and input errors promptly into the appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to improve processes and identify trends.
  • Contribute to identification of corrective actions and improvement activities, and contribute to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety.
  • Perform daily imaging equipment quality control (QC) ensuring all imaging equipment is in safe working order prior to use, and report any malfunctions to management.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to observe and proactively address patient reactions (i.e., medications) or potential outcomes and obtain assistance, as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations section.
  • ARRT-N - Radiologic Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Tech (ARRT) or CNMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) or CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure Registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) thru the Texas Medical Board or CMRT-Temp - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - Temporary State Licensure.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA).
