Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee all aspects of the fleet maintenance function at US Foods, Inc. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe work environment and working conditions for employees, ensuring shop and vehicle safety practices are always followed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of the fleet maintenance function, including maintenance on all company-owned equipment.
  • Lead to create a culture of safety that ensures every US Foods associate, customer, and the general public with whom our drivers and fleet technicians interact remain injury-free.
  • Interview, hire, and train all fleet technicians, schedule schooling and certification courses, and provide timely evaluations of employee performance.
  • Ensure all vehicles are in proper working condition by performing and/or overseeing maintenance, providing documentation and certifications, and updating specifications as needed.
  • Manage purchasing, warranties, capital improvement requests, and parts department inventory levels for all fleet needs.
  • Work with drivers to enable them to operate specialized equipment properly and provide assistance as needed when troubles develop on the road.
  • Comply with OSHA, DOT, and Tax commission regulations.
  • Produce weekly, period, and yearly reports, as well as daily OOS reports.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of fleet equipment experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain co-worker relationships.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong problem-solving and organization skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • State Inspections License preferred.
  • Class A or B commercial driver license preferred.
Work Environment

This role may require spending a portion of time on the road in a truck exposed to noise and vibration levels, as well as time in an office working on a computer. Time will also be spent inside and outside the distribution center in a variety of climates.
