We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to join our team at US Foods. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of fleet maintenance, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our vehicles, and establishing a culture of safety and excellence within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of fleet maintenance, including vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
  • Establish and maintain a safe work environment and working conditions for employees, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and Tax commission regulations.
  • Lead a team of technicians, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Manage purchasing, warranties, capital improvement requests, and parts department inventory levels to ensure proper department functioning.
  • Work with drivers to enable them to operate specialized equipment properly, and provide assistance as needed when troubles develop on the road.
  • Produce weekly, period, and yearly reports, as well as daily OOS reports, to ensure transparency and accountability within the department.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of fleet equipment experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain co-worker relationships.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong problem-solving and organization skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • State Inspections License.
  • Class A or B commercial driver license.
Work Environment

This role may require occasional travel, typically for mandatory meetings and/or training. The work environment will involve spending time on the road in a truck, exposed to noise and vibration levels, as well as time in an office working on a computer. The role will also involve spending time inside and outside the distribution center in a variety of climates.
