Job Summary

The Fleet Maintenance Manager will oversee all aspects of the fleet maintenance function, ensuring a safe work environment and working conditions for employees. This role will lead the creation of a culture of safety, ensuring that every US Foods associate, customers, and the general public remain injury-free.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of fleet maintenance, including vehicle safety practices and shop safety.
  • Lead the creation of a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and Tax commission regulations.
  • Interview, hire, and train fleet technicians, scheduling schooling and certification courses as needed.
  • Ensure all vehicles are in proper working condition, performing and/or overseeing maintenance, and providing documentation and certifications.
  • Manage purchasing, warranties, capital improvement requests, and parts department inventory levels for fleet needs.
  • Work with drivers to enable them to operate specialized equipment properly and provide assistance as needed.
  • Produce weekly, period, and yearly reports, as well as daily OOS reports.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of fleet equipment experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain co-worker relationships.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong problem-solving and organization skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • State Inspections License preferred.
  • Class A or B commercial driver license preferred.
