Job Title: Clinical Specialist II (APRN)

Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is seeking a per diem Clinical Specialist II (APRN) to join our team. As a leader in patient care, teaching, and research, CHA is committed to providing high-quality, convenient healthcare to our vibrant, diverse communities.

We are expanding services to address substance use disorders for our patients and communities. Our low-barrier and harm reduction clinic at The Cambridge Hospital will provide treatment for patients who need immediate attention and who could benefit from additional clinical services.

The program will be multidisciplinary and interdepartmental, collaborating with other departments throughout CHA and with our community partners to meet the needs of our patients with substance use disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide evaluations and treatment for an assigned caseload of clients, providing a range of psychosocial care.
  • Facilitate clinical coordination of admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure a smooth patient flow.
  • Perform clinical assessments and evaluations.
  • Demonstrate expertise in a variety of clinical modalities.
  • Plan, implement, and revise treatment in consultation with a multidisciplinary team and with community agencies as appropriate.
  • Function as a team leader in multi-disciplinary team discussions regarding treatment planning, treatment review, quality assurance, and utilization review functions/procedures.
  • Administer medication according to nursing policy and procedure.
  • Communicate effectively with management, peers, and health team members.
  • Interact effectively with patients, families, and/or significant others.
  • Adapt to change in a positive professional manner.
  • Maintain current Basic Life Support C Certification and certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing by the American Nursing Association.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience in the advanced practice role.
  • Graduate of an accredited National League of Nursing graduate school of nursing.
  • Masters degree (Nursing preferred) with a specialization in psychiatric mental health nursing or relevant clinical area.
  • Current Massachusetts licensure authorizing practice in an expanded role as a Psychiatric Nurse Clinical Specialist and authorization including prescriptive authority.
