Job Description Summary

In GE Aviation's Advanced Programs, we invent, develop, and test cutting-edge military technologies and integrated propulsion systems, delivering a strategic advantage to the U.S. warfighter as they protect and defend freedom around the globe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the GE Aviation business development team to shape, attract, and win new contracts centered on next-generation propulsion system capabilities that meet business and customer needs.
  • Contribute to long-term planning and drive the overall business strategy.
  • Provide systems integration focus working directly with GE Aviation project counterparts to support Advanced Propulsion System studies.
  • Establish customer relationships and protect intellectual property.
  • Lead and direct advanced studies, proposals, ROM cost estimates, and road map initiatives.
  • Drive proposal quality, timely delivery, and competitive proposals for OEM/DoD RFIs and RFPs.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with Weapon Systems Contractors or DoD Agencies and position GE Aviation for winning on customer activities.
  • Manage budgets and schedules.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or mathematics from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering role, with at least 5 years in propulsion preliminary design or propulsion systems engineering (aero/mechanical/thermal).
  • Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise fashion.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated customer interface skills.
  • Demonstrated program management abilities (planning, budgets, schedules, reviews).
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience with Weapons Systems Contractor or Department of Defense customer and processes.
  • Experience working early TRL (Technology Readiness Levels) multi-disciplinary programs.
  • Experience leading or supporting proposals or external funding pursuits.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by influence.
  • Advanced degree in engineering, physics, or mathematics.
