Position Overview:

As the Chief Systems Engineer at Associates Systems LLC, you will be recognized as the technical authority for a range of product line systems and associated programs. You will serve as the primary technical liaison for our clients, ensuring that their needs are met with precision and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the systems engineering functional lead, guiding the product line teams and their lead engineers.
  • Review and analyze system concepts, product architectures, and subsystem operations to facilitate effective knowledge sharing across project teams.
  • Plan and oversee engineering development, including laboratory testing and initial production phases at both System and System of Systems (SoS) levels.
  • Communicate project status and results succinctly to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Conduct technical analyses and feasibility assessments for new product specifications, leading multi-disciplinary trade studies and technical proposal generation.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to teams, fostering the development of less experienced staff members.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering along with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience. A Graduate Degree with at least 13 years of related experience is preferred.

Demonstrated mastery in a specific technical area, often achieved through advanced education and extensive experience, is essential. You should be recognized as an expert within your field by peers both inside and outside the organization.

Experience as a Program Chief Engineer for a significant program, particularly those exceeding $100M in contract value, is crucial. Leadership experience in product line system development and production programs is also required.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with military customers is advantageous.
  • Strong preference for candidates with Naval/Maritime program experience.
  • Contract negotiation and supplier management experience is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Infrared (IR), Electro-Optical (EO), or similar sensor systems is preferred.
  • Prior program experience in logistical support for fielded systems is a plus.
