Propulsion Systems Manufacturing Specialist

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of space technology to make humanity a multi-planetary species. As a Manufacturing Engineer for Propulsion Systems, you'll play a critical role in developing innovative solutions for our launch vehicles and spacecraft.


**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Lead the production, assembly, and testing of propulsion and environmental control system components for the Dragon vehicle.
  • Create and maintain build schedules to ensure timely delivery of components.
  • Resolve manufacturing and test discrepancies, collaborating with the quality team to resolve design, fabrication, and assembly issues.
  • Support component-level testing, including proof and leak, fluid flow, and functional checkouts.
  • Work closely with development and design engineers, internal machine shops, and external vendors to create parts that are designed for manufacturability.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, welding, or materials engineering.
  • 1+ years of experience working with fluid system components and instruments.

**Preferred Skills:**

  • Master's degree in aerospace, mechanical, welding, or materials engineering.
  • Experience with spacecraft or aircraft propulsion/environmental control systems.
  • Knowledge of principles of compressible and incompressible flow, thermodynamics, thermochemistry, mechanics, materials, and electrical circuits.
  • Experience with instrumentation and data acquisition, including familiarity with LabVIEW software.

**Additional Requirements:**

  • Must be available to work long hours and weekends as needed.
