Job Summary

The Department of Justice is seeking a highly skilled Program Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our Pre-Scan Unit, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing complex document submissions, performing technical functions, and processing documents for entry into our Automated Archive System (AAS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze complex document submissions to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Perform technical functions involving the receipt, distribution, and electronic scanning of documents
  • Process associated applicant fingerprint fees and verify that appropriate fees are included
  • Responsible for processing complex documents for entry into the AAS
  • Access and validate the authorization of submitting agencies and review the completeness and accuracy of information
  • Prepare and reconcile fees collected for processing applicant fingerprint cards
  • Process daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports and forward them to the appropriate Bureau sections
  • Provide training to section staff on various processes
Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of state statutes and Departmental programs
  • Understanding of automated and manual fingerprint processes
  • Ability to work in a remote work environment, home office, or similar environment in California
  • May be required to sit at a computer terminal for up to eight hours a day
  • Travel to designated offices may be required
