Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Employment Development Department as a Program Technician II in the Tax Processing and Accounting Division's Tax and Wage Correction Group. As a key member of our team, you will apply the provisions of the California Unemployment Insurance Code and use your analytical and communication skills to analyze and update employer account records within our automated systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and make adjustments to reconcile inconsistencies in employer Quarterly Reports of Wages and Personal Income Tax Withheld using document images from InfoImage and ACES systems.
  • Apply knowledge of statutes, regulations, policies, section procedures, and payroll tax reporting to analyze and update employer account records.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to achieve goals and meet timeliness requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to maintain cohesive relationships.
Requirements
  • Experience interpreting policies, regulations, and laws.
  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills utilizing sound judgment, discretion, tact, and a high degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and adapt to changing assignments and priorities.
Working Conditions

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.
