The Opening and Closing Team Leader works efficiently to meet job expectations and supports the Management Team in reaching restaurant objectives related to customer satisfaction, sales, and profitability.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Delivers complete and accurate orders to customers within designated service time goals, following established Customer Service Standards and procedures.
  • Ensures consistent, high-quality products are served to customers as outlined in the Team Member Orientation and Training Handbook.
  • Maintains the proper image and adheres to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
  • Organizes and cleans workstations, ensuring compliance with health department standards.
  • Manages cash responsibilities and ensures Team Members comply with safety and security procedures.
  • Provides guidance and feedback to Team Members, offering coaching and counseling to ensure job duties are performed according to standards.
  • Monitors shift activities to ensure compliance with food, paper, labor, and utility cost controls.
  • Completes all required paperwork accurately as directed by management.
  • Follows procedures for opening and closing the restaurant, addressing unexpected issues promptly.
  • Completes assignments as directed by the General Manager, including nightly paperwork, training, marketing, and maintaining restaurant cleanliness.
Nature & Scope

The Opening and Closing Team Leader receives guidance and training from the Restaurant Manager and utilizes company training materials.

During each shift, they motivate, direct, and coach Team Members to perform efficiently at their assigned stations, ensuring tasks are completed timely and according to company procedures.


They prepare the restaurant to meet customer needs and work diligently to ensure customer satisfaction with both service and product quality.


They support the Restaurant Manager in driving sales and controlling costs through effective use of cost control tools and processes. They troubleshoot operational issues and implement acceptable solutions.


This position requires a hands-on management style and physical tasks such as lifting, squatting, and standing for extended periods.

Task Analysis

To fulfill the responsibilities outlined in this job description, the following tasks will be necessary:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 55 pounds.
  • Ability to reach and move items from heights of up to 6 feet and as low as 6 inches.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment (e.g., sheeter machine, cash register, etc.).
  • Ability to apply pressure to cut through products and clean equipment.
  • Ability to count, separate, and weigh food products and inventory items.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions and instructions.
  • Ability to process and complete customer orders accurately.
  • Ability to comprehend training materials and practice standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to successfully complete required training programs for certification.
  • Ability to use mathematical skills for sales totals, inventory, and scheduling.
  • Ability to legally drive a vehicle while adhering to traffic laws.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate multiple team members to meet goals and deadlines.
Qualifications

The Team Leader must:

  • Have prior experience in a restaurant, retail, or customer service role.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma and basic math skills.
  • Be interviewed by management.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be reliable, hardworking, and able to perform under pressure.
  • Be available for approximately 30+ hours per week and perform all essential job functions.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record within company guidelines.
  • Provide documentation proving eligibility to work in the United States.
