The Wireless Technology division is leading the charge in reshaping connectivity for the future. We are at the forefront of constructing the nation’s first virtualized, standalone 5G wireless network, which is designed to be the foundation of a fully connected world, free from past limitations and adaptable to the diverse and evolving demands of our fast-paced society, economy, and technological landscape.


Key Responsibilities

DISH Wireless is seeking a Senior Manager for its Wireless Transport Procurement Team, consisting of 5-7 talented professionals. This role is pivotal in sourcing DISH's optical transport network and data center connectivity, essential for the Dish 5G network. You will oversee 75 Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and 35 Master Consulting Agreements (MCAs) totaling over $2.5 billion in contracts, with an emphasis on enhancing coverage in rural and international regions. You will lead the evolution of Dish's Transport network, emphasizing innovation and data-driven strategies.


Specific Duties Include:

  • Recruit, mentor, and supervise a team of Transport Procurement Managers.
  • Formulate and implement sourcing, contract management, negotiation, and supplier management strategies.
  • Oversee all phases of transport Request for Proposals (RFPs) to secure optimal techno-commercial solutions for DISH.
  • Establish and manage Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the organization to ensure cost efficiency, quality control, and effective executive reporting.
  • Evaluate the risks associated with potential and existing vendors and devise risk mitigation and business continuity strategies.
  • Examine industry trends to proactively identify risks and opportunities that can be leveraged for DISH's benefit.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel as a Senior Manager of Transport Procurement, you should possess:

Education and Experience:

  • A BS or MS in Engineering, Business, Finance, Legal, or a related technical field; or a comparable combination of wireless transport experience and education.
  • Over 8 years of experience in a wireless/transport environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing and negotiating transport RFPs.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional negotiation skills with a proven history of effective decision-making.
  • Technical knowledge of transport networks.
  • Thorough understanding of tools and software for developing and presenting financial models and project management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) construction practices and standards.
  • The ability to work fully on-site during core business hours.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $127,050.00 - $208,725.00 per year.
