Our Wireless Deployment team is dedicated to overcoming the challenges of previous network architectures by constructing the nation’s first cloud-native, standalone 5G wireless infrastructure. This initiative serves as the backbone for a connected future that meets the evolving social, economic, and transformative demands of today and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior RAN Performance Specialist, you will serve as the expert in 5G Wireless End-to-End Service Measurement KPIs within DISH Wireless. Your role will involve analyzing network performance, aligning it with customer experiences, and driving enhancements in DISH’s 5G service quality.
- Define RAN KPIs to monitor user experience, service quality, network health, capacity, and operational efficiency; create real-time KPI dashboards and conduct root cause analyses.
- Provide comprehensive troubleshooting for 5G networks, emphasizing cloud-based ORAN interfaces and end-to-end signaling protocols, utilizing vendor-specific logs and probing systems.
- Lead initiatives to enhance RAN performance and customer satisfaction, collaborating with RF, RAN, and Core engineering teams to recommend tuning actions and architectural modifications.
- Facilitate benchmarking efforts to evaluate DISH Wireless network performance against competitors, formulating strategies to enhance customer experiences.
- Employ Big Data Analytics with tools such as Python, R, and Tableau to harness AI/ML for operational modeling, anomaly detection, task automation, and zero-touch network performance management.
- Act as the point of contact for KPI requirements related to new technologies, working closely with Engineering, Operations, and various functional teams.
Qualifications:
To excel as a Senior RAN Performance Specialist, you should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, coupled with over 8 years of experience in mobile networks and a profound understanding of 5G/4G technologies.
Skills and Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of 5G ORAN standards, virtualization technologies, containerization, cloud-native principles, and SDN for cloud-based 5G Open RAN deployments.
- Expertise in cloud orchestration, edge computing, VNFs, CNFs, and open-source cloud-native technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- Comprehensive understanding of RAN network performance management, optimization, and end-to-end call flows for both voice and data communications.
- Proficiency in data and VoIP network architecture, infrastructure, traffic engineering, and NMS/EMS/OSS/BSS operations.
- Strong programming and data analytics capabilities, with familiarity with the latest telecom standards (TMF, ETSI, 3GPP) and transport network performance monitoring.

The base salary range provided is a guideline. Individual total compensation may vary based on qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is influenced by the role's location and may change based on work location. Candidates will need to successfully complete a pre-employment screening, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
