JOB POSITION :
Industrial Site Technician


Are you looking to become a proficient Overhead Crane Service Technician? Join Konecranes, a leading global provider of material handling solutions.

We are in search of talented individuals with both electrical and mechanical skills, who are comfortable working at significant heights. Our service technicians are the backbone of our industry, thriving in a safety-oriented environment.

In this role, you will troubleshoot 480 3-phase motors, resolve crane-related issues, and collaborate with clients and facility managers to fulfill service requirements across the nation.

What we offer:

Salary: $22 - $48 per hour - Compensation is based on skills, geographic location, internal equity, market analysis, years of relevant experience, educational qualifications, certifications, and technical assessment scores.

Company Vehicle: Our Service Technicians are provided with a work truck and a gas card for business use. Candidates must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

Principal Responsibilities:

Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at customer sites.
Provide on-call service as part of a rotation, including after-hours support.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic issues on-site.
Perform post-repair audits to ensure safety features are operational.
Document findings and recommend corrective actions, including safety notifications to clients.
Consult with clients on repair and safety matters, offering suggestions for material handling improvements.
Produce electronic documentation using company tools, obtaining client signatures.

Stay informed on industry codes and regulations (OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI). Complete service reports and other required documents accurately and promptly.

Communicate with the Field Operations Manager and Service Coordinator following established protocols. Maintain company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in optimal condition.

Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles, reporting deficiencies to the supervisor.
Adhere to established safety rules and procedures, including client guidelines.
Participate in monthly safety meetings.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Education: High School Diploma required. An Associate degree in Industrial Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or a related field is preferred, or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience.

Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience in electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair. Some electronic experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Previous experience with cranes is advantageous but not required.

Other Requirements: Must possess and maintain a good driving record, including a valid driver's license. Must be willing to work at heights. Availability for varied overtime as needed by clients, be on-call as part of the service office rotation, and be able to travel and work out of town occasionally.

Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. daily. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. on rare occasions. This position requires frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, and overhead reaching. This position requires occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling. This position will be indoors approximately 90% of the time and outdoors approximately 10% of the time. This position will frequently encounter heat, cold, noise, and heights.
