JOB POSITION :
Industrial Site Technician


Are you interested in becoming a proficient Overhead Crane Service Technician? Join Konecranes, a leader in material handling solutions.

We are looking for skilled professionals with electrical and mechanical knowledge, who are comfortable working at significant heights. Our service technicians are vital to our industry and thrive in a safety-focused environment.

Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting 480 3-phase motors, resolving crane-related issues, and collaborating with clients and facility managers to fulfill service requirements across the nation.

Salary: $22 - $48 per hour - Compensation is based on skills, geographic location, internal equity, market analysis, years of relevant experience, degrees and/or certifications, technical assessment scores, and more.

Company Vehicle: Our Service Technicians receive a work truck and a gas card for business use. Candidates must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

Principal Responsibilities:

Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at customer sites.
Provide on-call service as part of a rotation, including after-hours support.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic issues on-site.
Perform post-repair audits to ensure safety features are operational.
Document findings and recommend corrective actions, including safety notifications to customers.
Consult with customers on repair and safety matters, offering suggestions for material handling improvements.
Produce electronic documentation using company tools, obtaining customer signatures.

Stay informed on industry codes and regulations (OSHA, ANSI, CMAA). Complete service reports and other required documents accurately and promptly.

Communicate with the Field Operations Manager and Service Coordinator following established protocols. Maintain company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in good working condition.

Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles, reporting deficiencies to the supervisor.
Adhere to established safety rules and procedures, including customer guidelines.
Participate in monthly safety meetings.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Education: High School Diploma required. An Associate degree in Industrial Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or a related field is preferred, or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience.

Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience in electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair. Some electronic experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Prior experience with cranes is advantageous but not required.

Other Requirements: Must possess and maintain a good driving record, including a valid driver's license. Must be willing to work at heights. Availability for varied overtime, on-call service as part of the service office rotation, and occasional travel is necessary.

Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. daily. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally. This position requires frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, and overhead reaching. Occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling may be required. This position will be indoors approximately 90% of the time and outdoors about 10% of the time. Frequent exposure to heat, cold, noise, and heights is expected.
