Clinical Psychiatrist

Qualifications
Applicants must possess a medical degree and have successfully completed a recognized psychiatric residency program.
Licensure to practice in the relevant state is mandatory, along with certification from the Office of Mental Health to deliver psychiatric services in a licensed inpatient environment. A current DEA registration number is also required.
Note: A comprehensive background check, security clearance, and drug screening will be part of the hiring process.
Key Responsibilities
As a Psychiatrist with YesCare, your duties will include:
- Conducting on-site psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing, and treating inmates referred by medical or clinical staff. Documenting summaries of patient history, diagnosis, and treatment plans.
- Providing psychiatric care for inpatients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing review of all assigned inmates.
- Delivering psychiatric services to inmates in the general population who require regular mental health follow-up.
- Facilitating the transfer of inmates to Mental Health facilities when necessary, including preparing for any required court testimony.
- Participating actively in the treatment programming and planning for the Mental Health Unit, including regular collaboration with staff and supervisors, discussing complex cases, and monitoring medication effectiveness.
- Administering medication management for all inmates in the Mental Health Unit and offering individual or group therapy as needed.
- Overseeing all admissions and discharges from the Mental Health Unit, ensuring treatment plans are approved, signed, and effectively implemented.
- Providing educational support to Mental Health Unit staff as required.
- Being available for on-call duties as scheduled for the Mental Health Unit.
- Engaging in the Treatment Audit Committee.
