Our System-wide Resource Services (SSRS) department provides support across the entire organization. As a member of the float team, you will play a crucial role in fulfilling assignments throughout the system to ensure essential coverage (both inpatient and outpatient) during employee absences, illness, and peak service demands, while gaining diverse experience in various settings. Join our SSRS team as a Clinical Pharmacist and seize the opportunity to learn from resources across all locations. To excel in this role, the Clinical Pharmacist must effectively multitask in a dynamic environment and possess knowledge of inpatient care.

Responsibilities include:
  • Primarily focused on operational tasks; engages in direct patient care as clinical competencies are approved and during designated shifts.
  • Records the care provided to patients.
  • Oversees the drug distribution process: responsible for ensuring safe and effective alternatives as necessary.
  • Regularly communicates with physicians, nurses, and patients regarding medication therapy.
  • Contributes to initiatives aimed at enhancing the cost-effectiveness of medication therapy.
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide age-specific patient care as established for the area and job title.
  • Shows proficiency in performing competencies and activities as outlined in Pharmacist Authorities policy.

  • Internal candidates
  • Rehires who left The E.W. Scripps Company less than three years ago
  • Candidates with less than one year of experience
To maintain eligibility for the retention incentive, the following criteria must be met:
  • Must retain original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in the offer letter)
  • Must remain in the original department/specialty
  • Must maintain the original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonuses unless specifically noted in the offer letter.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree.
Required Certification/Registration:
  • California Pharmacist License
  • AHA BLS for the healthcare provider and ACLS certifications required prior to being trained to respond to codes.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • PGY1 residency or three years' experience in a relevant practice area.
