Position Overview:
As a Senior Clinical Pharmacist, you will deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical care aligned with the standards set by The E.W. Scripps Company. Your role involves the meticulous review and assessment of individual medication orders to ensure their appropriateness, safety, and cost-effectiveness. You will document the pharmaceutical care provided to patients.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee Drug Distribution: Ensure the safe and effective management of medication alternatives as necessary.
2. Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Maintain routine communication with physicians, nursing staff, and patients regarding medication therapy.
3. Enhance Cost-Effectiveness: Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving the financial efficiency of drug therapy.
4. Patient-Centric Care: Demonstrate the ability to provide age-appropriate care as required for the role.
5. Flexible Work Schedule: Work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, based on staffing needs.
6. Clinical Practice: Engage primarily in clinical activities, showcasing competencies and prescriptive authority as sanctioned by the medical staff.
7. Direct Patient Interaction: Participate actively in patient care alongside healthcare teams.
8. Clinical Oversight: Conduct all clinical pharmacy operations and supervise the clinical activities of pharmacy trainees.
9. Educational Role: Mentor students and residents in their training.

Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Completion of a PGY1 residency or a minimum of three years of relevant clinical pharmacy experience.

Required Certifications:
- Valid California Pharmacist License
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications prior to code response training.
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) or equivalent national certification must be obtained within two years of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within a health system pharmacy environment.
- Teaching certification and/or experience in mentoring pharmacy students and residents.
