Position Overview: The Senior Clinical Pharmacist in Transplantation serves as a pivotal authority within the organization, significantly influencing policy and program development. This role is centered around the optimization of medication use for patient benefit, requiring a deep understanding of drug therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address the educational needs of patients, healthcare teams, students, and residents.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and fiscal standards.
  • Lead critical projects that impact the organization.
  • Direct programs with organization-wide significance, formulating strategies and administering relevant policies and resources.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinicians to provide effective treatments and counsel patients, while maintaining comprehensive medication histories.
  • Advise healthcare providers on optimal treatment options for various diseases, staying informed on pharmacy regulations and advancements in research.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D) or equivalent training.
  • Completion of a PGY2 specialty residency in the area of specialization plus one year of relevant practice, or a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency plus four years of relevant practice, or seven years of dedicated practice in transplant without advanced pharmacy training.
  • Registered Pharmacist in good standing with the state.
  • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy and/or Specialty Practice.
  • In-depth knowledge of current research and developments in the field.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with healthcare providers and staff.
  • Strong understanding of medication use processes and access strategies.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records.
  • Clinical pharmacy experience across inpatient, transitional, and outpatient settings.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Experience in collaborative team environments.
  • Familiarity with prior authorization processes and insurance verification.
  • Documented contributions to specialty practice through quality improvement projects and educational initiatives.
  • Active involvement in advancing the pharmacy profession through leadership roles.
  • Commitment to teaching and mentoring within the healthcare community.
  • Experience in medication-use evaluations.
