Our System-wide Resource Services (SSRS) department supports the entire organization. As a member of the float team, you will fill essential roles across the system to ensure critical coverage (both inpatient and outpatient) during employee absences, illness, and peak service demands while gaining experience in diverse settings. Join our SSRS team as a Clinical Pharmacist and benefit from learning opportunities across all our locations. To excel in this role, the Clinical Pharmacist must effectively multitask in a dynamic environment and possess knowledge of inpatient care.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Primarily focused on operational duties while participating in direct patient care as clinical competencies are approved and during designated shifts.
  • Documenting the care provided to patients accurately.
  • Overseeing the drug distribution process, ensuring safe and effective alternatives are available as needed.
  • Regularly communicating with physicians, nursing staff, and patients regarding medication therapy.
  • Contributing to initiatives aimed at enhancing the cost-effectiveness of medication therapy.
  • Demonstrating the ability to provide age-specific patient care as established for the role.
  • Performing competencies and activities as outlined in the Pharmacist Authorities policy.
The following candidates are not eligible for hiring incentives:

  • Rehires who left The E.W. Scripps Company less than three years ago
  • Candidates with less than one year of experience
To maintain eligibility for the retention incentive, the following criteria must be adhered to:
  • Must retain original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in the offer letter)
  • Must remain in the original department/specialty
  • Must maintain the original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting the remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in the offer letter.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree.
Required Certification/Registration:
  • California Pharmacist License
  • AHA BLS for the healthcare provider and ACLS certifications required prior to being trained to respond to codes.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • PGY1 residency or three years of experience in a relevant practice area.
