Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Technician to join our team at Berry Global, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction by maintaining product standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct quality inspections on components manufactured on all production machines as required.
- Ensure that all customer-specific quality inspections are completed.
- Perform post-production quality checks as required.
- Identify process and product risks that may result in products not meeting customer requirements and report them to area management.
- Continuously identify opportunities for improvement and report them to supervisors, analysts, or managers.
- Comply with all area work instructions and personal hygiene requirements.
- Liaise with department managers and shift supervisors on all quality-related production problems.
- Liaise with production and customer service on quality concerns, held production, Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA), and quality alerts.
- Determine the disposition of suspect product produced.
- Comply with quality standards as set by the company and cooperate in both internal and external audits as required.
- Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, quality, environmental management, and food safety.
- Ensure that the department is safe and clean.
- Perform administration and reporting as necessary.
- Liaise with sales, customer service, corporate engineering, and the customer on the design and development of new products.
- Liaise with department managers with mold and tooling-related production issues.
- Provide technical packaging support to production.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks requested by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Quality Assurance.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, or walk for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Good computer skills required.
- Great communication skills - verbal and written; must effectively communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.
- Independent in working effectively with little supervision; self-starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
- Good attention to detail, time management skills, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as a cross-functional team member.
- Knowledge of GFSI or other food packaging standards.
