Job Title: Infection Prevention Specialist RN

PruittHealth is seeking a highly skilled Infection Prevention Specialist RN to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing infection prevention and control programs to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct ongoing surveillance of healthcare-associated infections and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies and procedures, and provide education and training to staff.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify and address infection control deficiencies and develop plans to prevent future occurrences.
  • Participate in antibiotic stewardship programs to improve the therapeutic use of antimicrobials.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, and provide regular updates to the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) committee.
Requirements:
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or professional training in medical technology, microbiology, or epidemiology.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience in an acute care or long-term care setting or disease surveillance in public health.
  • Previous experience in teaching and curriculum development in clinical instruction.
  • Current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Additional Qualifications:
  • Completion of specialized training in Infection Prevention and Control, such as the CDC Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Web-based Training Course or the University of North Carolina Spice Training.
