We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Tampa General Hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and verify patient demographics, clinical, and financial information to accurately schedule patient visits, surgery, and other hospital procedures.
- Assist with patient check-in, insurance notifications, and authorizations for oncology scheduled hospital and TGMG services to support claim processing and reimbursement.
- Perform follow-up calls post-surgery and appointment to patients and respond to staff messages.
- Recognize and adhere to all CMS, JCAHO, and HIPAA requirements when validating the hospital account.
- Collaborate with nurses, medical staff, ancillary departments, insurance carriers, care management/utilization, HIMS, scheduling, and other external professionals to assist patients with obtaining healthcare and financial services.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 2 years of experience with scheduling, registration, insurance verification in a healthcare setting.
- Moderate expertise with computer programs including Microsoft Office and Database programs.
