Position Overview:
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Maintenance Manager will spearhead the execution of EHS protocols and standards, providing expert guidance on EHS matters while collaborating with leadership on compliance, project oversight, reporting, and other related EHS management challenges.


This position is integral to the site leadership team, focusing on planning, EHS governance, auditing, management systems, sharing best practices, compliance initiatives, and regulatory reporting. The primary objective is to cultivate a safety culture that achieves exceptional EHS performance.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Promote a Zero-Injury Safety Culture:** Lead and mentor teams at each site to foster a hazard-free workplace, encourage safe work practices, and nurture a safety-oriented culture.
2. **Implement Safety Procedures:** Establish lockout/tagout protocols in accordance with industry standards.
3. **Compliance Reporting:** Ensure adherence to all environmental, health, and safety regulations as mandated by federal, state, and local authorities.
4. **EHS Documentation:** Maintain accurate records and documentation for EHS activities.
5. **Guidance and Direction:** Provide daily support in EHS programs for management and staff to ensure a unified and effective approach.
6. **Strategy Development:** Formulate and communicate strategies to meet EHS objectives.
7. **Risk Assessment:** Identify potential environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize incidents.
8. **Incident Investigation:** Conduct thorough investigations of EHS incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective action plans.
9. **Waste Management:** Oversee pollution and waste control initiatives.
10. **Training Programs:** Develop and implement training to meet regulatory and operational needs.
11. **Emergency Preparedness:** Design and schedule regular emergency drills for various scenarios.
12. **Maintenance Oversight:** Manage all maintenance operations, including the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program.

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:


- A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety Management, Environmental Management, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing context.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record in change management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to mentor and develop EHS professionals.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies, such as Kaizen, is advantageous.

Physical and Work Environment:


The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and involves moderate physical activity, including climbing, kneeling, and reaching. The work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility, with moderate noise levels and temperature-controlled areas.
