About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Market Data Specialist to join our team at Robinhood. As a key member of our Market Operations team, you will be responsible for managing market data feeds from exchanges and vendors, ensuring compliance with data governance policies, data usage, and reporting standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Project managing sourcing new products/providers for cross-functional teams
  • Managing the program to identify professional and non-professional traders
  • Responsible for oversight of quote counting and reporting
  • Driving down costs in partnership with the Growth Partnership/Procurement Teams
  • Monitoring data provider activity, assessing impact to firm, and engaging cross-functional partners as appropriate
  • Ensuring Standard Operating Procedures and/or Written Supervisory Procedures are up to date and followed
  • Maintaining customer-facing terms & conditions for data vendor
  • Overseeing and analyzing vendor feed and system changes
  • Serving as an escalation point for business partners
  • Researching and resolving market data issues arising in various operating environments and creating processes to proactively identify and resolve
  • Carrying out regular testing for quote counting and display
  • Engaging 3rd parties to improve our data quality and data cost strategy
  • Analyzing market data processes and collaborating with engineering teams on improvements
  • Partnering with CX to build on building out internal education on market data, effective client communications, and efficient issue resolution procedures
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, 2+ years of experience in a market data role
  • Proficient in SQL or Python
  • Proven ability to multitask - navigating from strategic to tactical assignments with limited supervision
  • Strategic mindset to help drive product management decisions, governance, and long-term vision
  • Knowledge of major exchanges and market data providers
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Proven ability to identify and mitigate risks proactively
  • Bias for action and ability to thrive in ambiguity
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
