Sales Director, New Business Development

Xometry, a leading digital marketplace for manufacturers, is seeking a seasoned Sales Manager to lead our outbound/new business-focused team. As a key member of our sales organization, you will be responsible for driving business growth, developing sales strategies, and overseeing the performance of your sales team.
Key Responsibilities:- Build and Manage a High-Performing Team: Recruit, hire, and develop a team of sales professionals focused on outbound prospecting and new business development, ensuring they consistently exceed sales goals.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Oversee the management of the sales pipeline to track and evaluate activities at each stage, from cold calling to closing deals, ensuring a steady flow of qualified leads and prospects.
- Coordinate Sales & Operations: Collaborate with sales and operations teams to assist reps in winning deals, ensuring seamless coordination to optimize sales processes and outcomes.
- Monitor and Motivate: Monitor employee productivity and motivate the team to reach daily and monthly goals, implementing best practices in sales pipeline management to maintain high team morale and performance.
- CRM Management: Ensure accurate and complete information is captured in CRM-Salesforce, utilizing CRM tools to manage and analyze sales activities and pipeline health.
- Supervise and Develop Team: Supervise the team in accordance with company policies and procedures, conducting employee interviews, orientations, and hiring of staff, providing ongoing training, coaching, and development to enhance the team's skills and product knowledge.
- Reporting: Report to senior management on sales metrics and opportunities, using data-driven insights to forecast revenue and identify areas for improvement.
- Customer Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of our ideal customers and how they relate to our products, using this knowledge to tailor sales strategies and improve customer engagement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years of experience in sales, with at least 3+ years of experience managing and directing a sales team
- Proven track record in outbound sales and new business development
- Experience in planning and implementing aggressive outbound sales strategies
- Knowledge of technical sales and manufacturing is a plus
- Ability to articulate value propositions and ROI to potential customers
- Dedication to providing great customer service and building long-term customer relationships
- Ability to train, develop, grow, and lead a sales team to success
- Must be able to work onsite 3 days a week in our office
