Job Title: Early Childhood Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at Children and Families First Delaware Inc.

Job Summary:

The Early Childhood Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing and responsive environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children aged 3-5 years old. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with families and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement learning experiences that advance the cognitive and physical development of children, including progress toward school readiness goals.
  • Create a safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environment that promotes positive social and emotional competencies.
  • Use observations and anecdotal notes to document children's progress and individualize curriculum.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with families through home-visiting and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve positive outcomes for children of all abilities.
  • Address challenging behaviors by observing, implementing preventive measures, and teaching new social and communication skills.
  • Complete quarterly assessment checkpoints and developmental screenings for each child.
Requirements:
  • AA/AS in Early Childhood Education or related field, plus experience teaching preschool-age children.
  • BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or related field, with at least six college courses in Early Childhood Education, plus experience teaching preschool-age children.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is desirable.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, using MS Office applications and other basic data systems.
  • Must maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences present among the agency's service population.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
