Job Overview

Position Summary: The Operations Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing staff performance and operational workflows under the direction of the Operations Manager. This position is integral to supporting and managing all facets of our production processes. The ideal candidate will possess a background in manufacturing leadership, a solid history of enhancing operational productivity, and the capability to spearhead ongoing improvement projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily production briefings to prioritize tasks across departments based on scheduled jobs and established Service Level Agreements.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to gather insights on machinery status and operational readiness.
  • Delegate tasks to operators according to production requirements, ensuring adequate coverage with floaters and backups.
  • Perform regular walkthroughs of the production area to assess safety, equipment functionality, and staff engagement.
  • Ensure that daily production documentation is completed on time and in accordance with established standards, addressing any discrepancies with management.
  • Regularly monitor all departments for quality assurance, comparing work orders with quality checks.
  • Facilitate monthly discussions with management to review production metrics, highlight achievements, and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Adhere to all current and future compliance and security protocols.

Strategic Leadership: Formulate and execute strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing manufacturing operations, improving efficiency, and fulfilling organizational objectives.

Team Leadership: Guide and mentor the manufacturing operations team, including production supervisors and support personnel.

Operational Excellence: Foster a culture of operational excellence by implementing best practices, lean manufacturing techniques, and continuous improvement strategies.

Resource Management: Work with cross-functional teams to create production schedules that align with sales forecasts, inventory levels, and customer needs.

Quality Control: Develop and uphold stringent quality assurance protocols to ensure products consistently meet or exceed industry benchmarks and customer expectations.

Budget Management: Create and oversee budgets, managing expenses while maximizing production efficiency and maintaining quality standards.

Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, environmental standards, and safety guidelines, collaborating with regulatory agencies as necessary.

Supply Chain Coordination: Partner with the supply chain team to enhance material procurement, inventory management, and supplier relationships.

Technology Adoption: Assess and implement new technologies and systems to improve manufacturing processes, enhance data analysis, and drive automation where feasible.

Risk Mitigation: Identify potential operational risks and develop strategies to address them, ensuring the stability of manufacturing activities.

Education and Experience:
