Job Overview

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking an experienced Insurance Account Manager to join our team in National Accounts. As an Insurance Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business. You will work closely with agents, brokers, and customers to provide guaranteed cost and loss sensitive coverage for new and renewal business based on customers' needs.

Salary Range
$111,600 - $184,200 per year.

Responsibilities

As an Insurance Account Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
  • Underwriting and skillfully negotiating complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with internal partners within the business unit and across the enterprise to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Fostering and maintaining relationships with external partners by regularly meeting in person with agents, brokers, and customers to market and sell Travelers products with a goal of writing and retaining accounts consistent with our risk appetite.
  • Identifying and capturing new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • Four to six years of relevant underwriting experience with experience in National Accounts.
  • Deep knowledge of loss sensitive products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
  • Deep financial acumen.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to proactively identify underwriting, marketing, or financial challenges and analyze available information to make timely decisions in alignment with our risk appetite.
