Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Medical Office Support Specialist to join our team at Rutland Regional Medical Center. This role will provide key support to our clinical staff, ensuring seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Customer Service

Our ideal candidate will serve as the initial point of contact for patients, referring offices, physicians, and providers, providing exceptional communication and problem-solving skills to ensure positive experiences.

Patient Registration

Responsibilities include registering patients with accurate demographic, insurance, and clinical information, guaranteeing timely billing and precise records.

Phone and In-Person Interactions

The successful candidate will handle multiple phone calls and face-to-face conversations with poise, integrity, and composure, effectively triaging and troubleshooting issues.

Clinical Support

This role involves assisting clinical staff as needed, performing clerical duties to facilitate timely patient care, and maintaining focus on patient needs while optimizing hospital resources.

Requirements
  • Education

A High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

At least 2 years of secretarial experience or medical office training, including 1 year of patient or customer service experience, and proficiency in computerized health information systems.

Skills and Qualifications

This position demands excellent oral and written communication skills, strong basic computer skills, and moderate knowledge of medical terminology.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $16.60 - $24.65 per hour, based on industry standards and location factors.
