Director of Total Rewards Job Description

At StevenDouglas, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Total Rewards to lead our compensation and benefits strategy. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive compensation and benefits programs that align with our business objectives and drive employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compensation: Develop and implement scalable job leveling structures and tools, ensuring accurate FLSA classifications and job family alignment. Oversee company compensation programs, policies, and guidelines, ensuring competitive and effective practices.
  • Benefits: Oversee wellness and employee health programs, ensuring effectiveness and alignment with company objectives. Develop and implement comprehensive benefits packages (health, dental, life insurance, 401k, wellness, etc.) in partnership with providers and intermediaries.
  • Total Rewards Strategy: Partner with HR and business leaders to implement total rewards strategies that align with the company's goals, drive employee engagement, and support key business initiatives. Keep abreast of global market data and adapt programs to maintain competitiveness.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Develop metrics, analytics, and dashboards to measure the effectiveness of total rewards programs and guide future direction. Research trends affecting compensation and benefits to continuously enhance practices.
  • Budgeting: Prepare and manage the department budget, ensuring expenditure controls and alignment with business goals. Partner with finance to forecast and budget for potential benefits enhancements.
  • Leadership: Foster strong relationships across the organization (finance, payroll, legal, etc.) to resolve complex challenges while maintaining compliance. Build trust through cross-functional collaboration. Lead, coach, and develop a Total Rewards team of 2 employees, aligning performance with company goals and expectations.
  • Other HR Duties: Carry out additional HR duties as assigned by leadership.
