Compensation Manager

The Compensation Manager is a key member of the compensation team responsible for designing, executing, and administering compensation programs. This role contributes to, leads, and advises on day-to-day compensation activities, working closely with the Compensation Director on long-term priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute compensation plans, including base pay administration, annual cash bonuses, and long-term incentive programs.
- Advise and assist team members with HRIS (Ceridian Dayforce) Compensation module maintenance, including compensation program design, job additions/removals, bonus program management, and auditing for calculation and reporting accuracy.
- Use internal and external data points, trends, and benchmarks to make recommendations for the annual merit process.
- Support HR Business Partners and business leaders in day-to-day requests and advise team members on proper responses.
- Complete market job pricing and make recommendations for pay ranges.
- Assist the Compensation Director in maintaining job and salary structures.
- Configure job and job assignments in the HRIS system.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of compensation plans and programs, including base pay and merit administration, cash bonus plans, and long-term incentive plans.
- Verify and confirm accuracy of compensation/total rewards team members' work.
- Accountable for yearly and regular updates of policy documentation.
- Audit for legal compliance of minimum wage and exempt thresholds across all state, city, and municipalities.
- Partner with the legal team to assess jobs and their respective duties to determine FLSA classification.
- Conduct analysis to support compensation-related decisions.
- Assist in merger and acquisition activity related to compensation and benefit plans.
- Aid in gathering data for external audit requests.
- Evaluate and revise internal processes to increase compensation team efficiency.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed by other departments and leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, finance, data analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the Compensation field.
- Experience with compensation plan design and implementation, including base salary structures, variable pay plans, and long-term incentive programs.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with expert Excel skills, including formulas, charts, graphs, and pivot tables.
- Expert analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify data trends and inconsistencies.
- Ability to quickly summarize large amounts of data into formats easy to understand and digest by executive leaders.
- Unquestionable ability to work with sensitive data and maintain confidentiality, credibility, and trust.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with a commitment to accuracy and detail.
- Ability to think proactively, identify problems, and propose solutions, with a high level of self-initiative.
- Capacity to influence and develop successful cross-functional business relationships.
- Understanding of customer needs and flexibility to assist in all areas of the HR Department as needed.
- Comfortable working independently and interacting with employees at all levels.
- Results/action-oriented.
- Solutions-driven individual with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Master's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce HRIS.
- Knowledge of SQL, Tableau, Power BI.
