As a Senior Incident Responder, you will be instrumental in maintaining a secure environment for both our organization and its users, actively addressing security threats. Being part of our Incident Response Team signifies being a crucial contributor to the development and execution of security protocols, managing security incidents with proficiency, and bolstering the overall security framework of Gen and its affiliates. Ideal candidates for this position are skilled in navigating high-pressure scenarios, possess a comprehensive understanding of both offensive and defensive strategies, mentor peers, and proactively recommend security enhancements to protect data against evolving threats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and respond to security incidents across the organization, collaborating with various teams to mitigate threats.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits.
  • Design and implement robust security measures for prevention.
  • Stay updated on security trends, advisories, and academic research.
  • Effectively communicate risks and solutions to diverse audiences.
  • Utilize tools such as Splunk, TheHive/Cortex, and other security automation technologies.
  • Develop and implement processes and tools to improve incident management.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in multi-tenant, multi-cloud system environments.
  • Communicate effectively through text-based platforms and document technical details clearly.
  • Participate in the Security Operations On-Call rotation.
  • Exhibit alignment with organizational values.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams on various security topics.
  • Independently identify and respond to security incidents organization-wide.
  • Conduct proactive threat hunting based on intelligence.
  • Perform forensic analysis on compromised hosts independently.
  • Analyze network traffic to detect malicious activities.
  • Mentor team members in Incident Response.
  • Create and maintain scalable log ingestion and analytics platforms.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and incident reviews.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in web or cloud security, log aggregation, or penetration testing.
  • At least 2 years of experience in incident response.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of systems in a multi-tenant, cloud environment.
  • Proficiency in Linux OS and common monitoring practices.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Willingness to participate in Security Operations On-Call duties.
  • Experience in OS internals, web application security, and intrusion detection.
