Position Overview:
The Radiation Oncology department is seeking a dedicated and proficient Radiation Therapist who possesses excellent interpersonal and technical abilities to assist our oncology patients and healthcare professionals.
Work Schedule:
Flexible PRN shifts available, with options for 6 or 10 shifts within a 6-week period.
Facility:
Saint Thomas Midtown and Saint Thomas West.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepares and positions patients while selecting appropriate anatomical parameters.
- Collaborates with physicians and dosimetrists to deliver precise patient treatment plans.
- Keeps meticulous records of all therapy sessions.
- Maintains and calibrates essential equipment, including linear accelerators.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory agency standards in all activities.
- Submits high-quality images and documents to PACS, ensuring correct lead markers and patient data/history.
- Assists in upholding a clean, safe, and organized department environment.
Qualifications:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Required Credential(s): BLS Provider certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer. Acceptable certifications include those from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Additional Credentials:
One or more of the following certifications are required prior to hire or transfer:
- Cardiographic Tech credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiation Therapy credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Medical Sonographer credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable job-specific experience is required.
