Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at SCRI Oncology Partners. The successful candidate will provide general nursing care to patients, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and assist with patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology nursing and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide general nursing care to patients, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Assist with patient care, including preparing equipment and assisting physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Observe, record, and report patients' conditions and reactions to medications and treatments to physicians.
  • Screen patients for appropriate information and instruct patients in collection of specimen samples for testing.
  • Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls and instruct patients and family members regarding medications and treatment instructions.
  • Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Perform EKG and oxymetry readings as required by physicians.
  • Obtain blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions.
  • Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as required or directed by physicians.
  • Maintain patient files, records, and other information.
  • Initiate IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act.
Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.
  • 0-3 years of experience as a practical nurse.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
