Position Overview

Role Summary: Under general supervision, this role is responsible for managing the planning, execution, and successful completion of small to medium-sized technology initiatives. The Project Manager will oversee custom software development projects, implement pre-packaged solutions, and enhance existing software systems. This position operates within a matrixed environment, leading a diverse array of technology resources throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Lifecycle Management: Drive all project activities through the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), applying various project methodologies to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Team Assembly: Collaborate with Senior Leadership to assemble project teams, assign responsibilities, develop schedules, and secure necessary resources.
  • Business Case Communication: Assist in articulating the business case to the project team to facilitate decision-making and prioritization.
  • Liaison Role: Act as a bridge between technology and business stakeholders, providing updates on project status, issues, and risks.
  • Project Planning: Create and maintain comprehensive project plans, ensuring effective financial forecasting and tracking.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Interface with other technology and business units to align on project scope and resource allocation.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and evaluate project work to ensure adherence to quality standards and organizational policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities

May mentor and guide less-experienced team members, taking on a leadership role in systems projects.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of project management experience; ten years preferred with increasing responsibilities.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or Agile Certification is advantageous.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently across various SDLC stages.
  • Familiarity with Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Agile Project Management methodologies.
  • Experience leading infrastructure-related projects, including network upgrades and application deployments.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of presenting to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders in both IT and business units.
  • Understanding of IT Governance and reporting.
  • Skill in creating and delivering executive-level presentations.
Work Environment
