Position Overview:
As a vital member of the Finance team, the Financial Analyst will collaborate closely with fellow Finance and Accounting professionals throughout the organization, as well as with Legence's business leaders and our investor, Blackstone.

Key Responsibilities:
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Conducting monthly and quarterly financial analyses.
  • Supporting the monthly closing process.
  • Assisting in annual budgeting and long-term forecasting.
  • Preparing materials for Board and Lender meetings.
  • Facilitating the financial integration of newly acquired entities.
  • Managing data and contributing to various initiatives.

Specific Areas of Ownership:

Financial Analysis:
Review and interpret financial statements and key performance indicators (KPIs) for both business units and consolidated Legence data. Summarize significant drivers for variances from budget and forecast, and identify sequential trends for senior management. Generate innovative analytical perspectives on performance for management and the Board, while evaluating potential growth areas and synergies across the Legence portfolio.

Budgeting:
Work in collaboration with business unit leaders and the corporate leadership team to support the annual budgeting cycle. Assist in creating and maintaining a consolidated budget financial model. Aid in the preparation of materials and analytics for distribution to the Board, executive leadership, and lenders.

Forecasting:
Maintain the corporate financial model, which includes a near-term forecast, by updating financials and assumptions quarterly. This model encompasses three financial statements and will be utilized to provide accurate insights into revenue, EBITDA, cash flow, liquidity, and covenant ratios.

Communication:
Prepare materials for quarterly Board meetings and lender calls. Support treasury and capital raising initiatives to facilitate ongoing M&A growth.

M&A Integration:
Collaborate with the accounting and M&A teams to seamlessly integrate newly acquired companies into Legence's financial reporting framework.

Data Management:
Lead efforts to enhance the quality of project-level data received from business units monthly, providing constructive feedback to business-unit controllers and driving process improvements. Partner with consultants to leverage existing finance software platforms more effectively, ensuring analytical views of company performance are accessible to senior management.

Demonstrate the ability to identify patterns beyond superficial data by engaging in inquiry and driving towards clear conclusions and decision points. Exhibit strong judgment in transforming information into actionable insights and recommendations.

Organization:

Technical Skills:
Have a robust understanding of the three financial statements, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience in financial modeling.

Desired Qualifications:
1 to 2 years of experience in a finance-related role (such as Investment Banking, Equity Research, Private Equity, Corporate Finance, etc.). A Bachelor's Degree in Finance and/or Accounting is required, along with financial modeling and forecasting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
