Job Title: Attorney - Assistant Bar Counsel

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly motivated and experienced trial attorney to join the Office of Bar Counsel. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in regulating the legal profession in Virginia through the review, investigation, and trial of disciplinary complaints.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze complaints of misconduct
  • Present recommendations and try misconduct cases before district committees, the Disciplinary Board, and circuit courts
  • Develop and present continuing legal education programs for various groups
  • Participate in special assignments and contribute to a highly collaborative office environment

The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school, be an active member in good standing with the Virginia State Bar, and possess a minimum of five years of trial experience. Strong litigation, writing, and legal research skills are essential, as well as the ability to analyze complex issues and make sound recommendations.
