Overview:


The Surgical Support Specialist plays a vital role in facilitating safe and efficient patient care within the perioperative environment. This position involves the meticulous cleaning and sanitization of surgical areas, equipment, and positioning devices to ensure optimal conditions for patient procedures.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and organize necessary equipment for surgical procedures.
  • Maintain adequate stock of linens and medical supplies.
  • Assist with the transportation and preparation of patients.
  • Handle the transport of blood products and specimens as required.
  • Support the perioperative team in various capacities.

Critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision are essential in this fast-paced environment.



Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED is required. Alternatively, successful completion of a UCHealth-administered basic competency assessment may be accepted.

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer is required prior to starting. BLS or CPR certification must remain valid for at least sixty days post-hire.
