Key Responsibilities
  • Perform phlebotomy and laboratory procedures as directed.
  • Collect specimens according to established procedures.
  • Explain the process of drawing blood clearly to patients.
  • Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
  • Send blood samples to testing facilities.
  • Verify and confirm written and electronic orders.
  • Update patient records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements
  • Completion of an approved medical assistant-phlebotomist training program.
  • Current Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification issued by Washington State Department of Health.
  • Experience with pediatric patients preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Basic computer user skills.
