This posting is for multiple openings of a Phlebotomist at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect and process laboratory specimens from various areas of the hospital, including blood samples, skin scrapings, and POCT testing.
- Maintain laboratory supplies by ordering, receiving, and stocking them.
- Answer the telephone and relay messages.
- Perform general laboratory duties, including cleaning, instrument maintenance, copying, faxing, and other related tasks.
- Register patients and access specimens into the computer system.
- Label, process, and distribute samples.
- Print pending logs and reports.
- Provide orientation and training for Medical Technology students, Career Focus students, and phlebotomy students.
- High School Diploma or GED or documentation of higher education.
- Completed Medical Assistant with phlebotomy or Phlebotomy course.
- Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification.
- Computer experience.
- Laboratory or related science experience.
- 6 months of Phlebotomist specific experience, which can include time spent in the Phlebotomist training program.
