Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in collecting and processing laboratory specimens from various areas of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens from all areas of the hospital, including blood samples, skin scrapings, and POCT testing and non-blood specimens.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies by ordering, receiving, and stocking them.
  • Answer the telephone and relay messages.
  • Perform general laboratory duties, including general cleaning, instrument maintenance, copying, faxing, and other related duties.
  • Register patients and access specimens into the computer system.
  • Label, process, and distribute samples.
  • Print pending logs.
  • Print, copy, and distribute reports depending on the department.
  • Provide orientation and training for Medical Technology students, Career Focus students, and phlebotomy students.
Requirements
  • H.S. Diploma or GED or documentation of higher education.
  • Must have completed Medical Assistant with phlebotomy or Phlebotomy course.
  • Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification.
  • Computer experience.
  • Laboratory or related science experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6 months of Phlebotomist specific experience, which can include time spent in the Phlebotomist training program.
