Job Summary:

The Chemistry Department at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking qualified Teaching Assistants to assist with various courses throughout Summer 2 and the 2/3 academic year. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the instruction and learning environment of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with general and organic chemistry laboratories, as well as other courses that may involve lecture and online instruction.
  • Work closely with faculty members to develop and implement instructional materials and assessments.
  • Provide individualized support to students, including tutoring and academic advising.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
