Director of Surgical Pathology

Job Summary:

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Kentucky is seeking a highly qualified surgical pathologist to serve as the Director of Surgical Pathology. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with administrative experience to lead a team of 24 surgical pathologists and provide clinical subspecialty services.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative leadership as the Director of Surgical Pathology
  • Section director for the histology and surgical pathology laboratories
  • Provide clinical subspecialty surgical pathology services
  • Classroom teaching to students and clinical teaching to residents
  • Participate in scholarly initiatives of the Department and the College of Medicine
Requirements:
  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree
  • Fellowship training in surgical pathology
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex and busy surgical pathology laboratory
  • Experience in administration/management of a surgical pathology laboratory/division
