About This Role

As a Public Sector Sales Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth within the State and Local Government and Education (K-12 and Higher Education) sectors. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic relationships with key decision-makers, and presenting compelling solutions that address their unique needs.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to penetrate the public sector market.
  • Identify and qualify potential clients within State and Local Governments and Education institutions.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including IT directors, procurement officers, and C-level executives.
  • Conduct in-depth needs assessments to understand client requirements and challenges.
  • Present Connection's value proposition and tailored solutions to address specific client needs.
  • Collaborate closely with inside sales account managers to ensure seamless customer onboarding and ongoing support.
  • Track sales progress, analyze market trends, and provide regular reports on performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a business-related field preferred.
  • Six plus years of proven experience in IT sales, with a focus on developing and maintaining customer accounts within the public sector.
  • Demonstrated success in exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • In-depth understanding of the IT landscape and emerging technologies relevant to government and education institutions.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with C-level executives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a strategic mindset.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and sales automation tools.
