We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Desktop Engineer to join our team at Shulman Fleming & Partners. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting our desktop infrastructure and corporate applications.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and deploy Windows 10 (or newer) image deployments and updates in our VDI and physical desktop infrastructure.
- Administer Active Directory Group policy, including creating, editing, and evaluating GPOs that affect the desktop environment.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems, including application-level support.
- Automate solutions and changes for the desktop environment using scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.
- Package applications for automated deployment in Microsoft SCCM/Intune, VMWare AppVolumes, and Microsoft App-V.
- Provide support off-hours when needed and serve as the final escalation point for End User Support/Service Desk and IT Operations teams for application packaging and OS-related issues.
- 5+ years of experience supporting in a mission-critical environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Technical, engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
- Strong scripting and automation expertise.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting real-time market data and trading.
- Good understanding of operating system administration (Windows).
- Experience with Microsoft M365 Apps for Enterprise (Office 2016/365), Microsoft MDT, Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Intune, VMWare WorkspaceOne, and application packaging and virtualization.
- Knowledge of PowerShell, Python, or other desktop scripting languages.
