Our mission is supported through our certification programs, advocacy efforts, and the establishment of industry standards aimed at energy conservation and improved productivity.

We are seeking a Director of Regulatory Affairs to play a pivotal role in shaping and executing energy and environmental policies. This position is essential for guiding AHRI's policy initiatives and aligning regulatory objectives concerning energy efficiency, environmental impact, climate change, chemical management, and decarbonization efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively identifies potential policy and regulatory challenges, providing strategic recommendations on their implications for AHRI members.
  • Collaborates with AHRI members to build consensus on key priorities and policy stances.
  • Collects member feedback and leads the creation of responses to regulatory proposals that influence the industry.
  • Contributes significantly to the formulation of AHRI's policy strategies, ensuring alignment with both immediate and long-term member needs.
  • Prepares written materials such as comments, testimonies, white papers, and talking points for use in hearings, agency discussions, and other external communications.
  • Advocates for AHRI's policy objectives by engaging actively in industry coalitions.
  • Delivers prompt responses regarding AHRI priorities through the development of relevant comments, letters, and talking points on issues affecting members.
  • Establishes recognition as an authority within AHRI and the relevant field.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in public policy, government affairs, political science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five to ten years of experience in energy and environmental sectors, particularly within a trade association context.
Compensation and Benefits

AHRI offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including employer contributions to 401(k) and Roth(k) plans, all within a supportive work environment. The salary range for this role is $125,000 to $160,000.
