We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Tax Specialist to join our team at TD Bank. As a key member of our Payroll Department, you will be responsible for processing tax and general ledger functions in compliance with bank policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform payroll tax analysis duties, including reconciling quarterly tax information and working with tax agency representatives to resolve outstanding issues.
- Create and modify reports as needed to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the maintenance of payroll records and reports, including the generation of W-2s and other reports required by regulation.
- Support acquisition activity, including setting up location codes, notifying state agencies, auditing reports, and completing unusual and non-routine issues.
- Reconcile the general ledger, reconcile all tax reports and quarterly files in conjunction with the third-party provider, and monitor audit reports.
- 7+ years of related experience in payroll processing practices and applicable laws.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll tax analysis and general ledger functions.
- Experience with in-house Payroll HRI System, preferably PeopleSoft, and multi-state tax service or outsourcing service to a third-party provider.
- Excellent customer service orientation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, on financial matters.
