Job Title: Partner Abuse Intervention Program Facilitator

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Partner Abuse Intervention Program Facilitator to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing partner abuse intervention program services to clients within the guidelines of agency policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide partner abuse intervention program groups within agency policies and procedures.
  • Maintain frequent case-related contacts with local resources, collateral sources, public and private agencies, and organizations to advocate on behalf of clients.
  • Refers clients for services as needed, obtaining appropriate Release of Information before a referral is made.
  • Initiates contact with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services as a mandated reporter when child abuse or neglect is suspected, in consultation with the supervisor.
  • Initiates contact with the Elder Abuse Hotline as a mandated reporter when elder abuse is suspected, in consultation with the supervisor.
  • Keeps supervisor informed regarding case-related subpoenas and attends court when appropriate.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of clients in crisis who may be at-risk, and any situation or incident that may require immediate attention, to prevent harm to anyone by following the agency emergency plan in the Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Completes case and statistical recordings, and other required reports and record keeping for assigned clients.
  • Engages in bi-weekly professional supervision with designated supervisor.
  • Maintains awareness of applicable liability issues and other applicable legal issues, and their potential to affect agency and/or clients.
  • Abides by the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics, including NASW standards for cultural competence in social work practice.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, with a BSW preferred but a major in human services acceptable.
  • Completed 40-hour domestic violence training, or has a plan for completion.
  • Completed 20-hour partner abuse intervention training, or has a plan for completion.
  • Previous experience in domestic violence work is preferred.
